How will you know I can help you?
Therapy can feel like a big risky investment. What if things don't change? How can I trust you can help me? Here is the thing I can promise, I want to help you. I really enjoy watching transformations happen and I believe we all have a right to be happy. I will be as comprehensive, inclusive, warm and insightful as you would like. I want to work with you to make your experience a positive one.
How long are sessions? How frequent?
Sessions are 50 minutes long. I believe in weekly therapy is the most effective therapy. I see people more frequently, depending on what we have decided is best for our work together. Sometimes it is helpful to choose a therapist in a location you enjoy or live close to. I am located in Hayes Valley and am close to many public transit options. Make sure that my office is convenient for you, and an area you enjoy being in.
How long should I expect to be in therapy?
This is a tough question. Sometimes therapy takes a while, because life happens and presents other difficulties. I have also seen it happen quickly, where in a matter of weeks someone is feeling better than they expected. As you change, your goals change. We will check in regularly to make sure you are getting everything you need from our work together. Here's the thing, people are complex and there are no quick fixes. This may take time, longer than you want, but I believe you will find it is worth it.
How much do you charge?
I charge $220 for a 50 minute session.
How do I know you can help me?
I am committed to helping people and I want to help you. Before you come in for your first appointment, we will talk on the phone for about 20 minutes to make sure you feel comfortable and I can make sure I feel I can help you. I will be honest, if I feel I cannot help you then I will get you the referrals you need to connect you with someone who can.
How do you work?
I am an engaging, genuine, and calm therapist helping my clients define what they want in life and have healthier, more meaningful relationships. I remind my clients of their values and what is important to them by observing and connecting them to the greater vision they have for themselves. I use my strong memory as a tool to help me reflect to clients what they have accomplished and the journey they are on. I bring humor in a skillful way to create and maintain connection.
Do you take insurance?
I do not take insurance. I am considered an out-of-network provider. Though, I can provide statements for you to get reimbursed through your insurance. I encourage you to check with your insurance to see how much they reimburse.
